The little brother in Samsung’s 2024 QLED TV lineup, the QN90D performed well in our testing metrics. While we felt it didn’t match an OLED screen, the QN90D’s picture is accurate with solid brightness, colors and clear definition between objects and background. It features picture and sound optimization tech like the NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor and Quantum Matrix Technology.
Performing well in many metrics, this is a solid TV. We gave high marks for its gaming features, but we did notice a bit of a motion blur while gaming with a PS5. Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator technology brings the refresh rate to 144 hertz, which is in the high-end range for TVs in this product category.
The QN90D features the quality standard we expect from Samsung’s QLED line. For anybody looking to upgrade from an older model, the QN90D is a TV worth considering.

While 8K is a nascent technology, that hasn’t stopped Samsung from developing a top-of-the-line 8K TV in the QN900D. This QLED TV is the definition of premium. During our testing, we thought it had incredible brightness, very inky blacks, breathtaking detail and a sleek design. Plus, the QN900D comes equipped with 8K AI Upscaling Pro, AI Motion Enhancer Pro and an Infinity Air Stand, which makes the TV appear to be floating.
Truly, the QN900D is very impressive. Its picture is crisp and defined while providing top-of-the-line gaming features. It boasts a 240-hertz VRR at 4K resolution, which is the best you can find in gaming screens. We didn’t notice any motion blur while testing.
If you can spare the expense — and being an early adopter of 8K technology is no issue — it’s hard to find a better TV for a premium home theater than the QN900D.
We tested these TVs by viewing the TV from several different angles to get a sense of picture quality, including brightness, color accuracy, viewing angle, anti-glare and sharpness. We also tested the TVs in different formats to get an idea of how the picture changes.
To test gaming performance, we tested with a PS5 to see how it handled next-gen graphics, input lag and VRR. And we tested the TVs in various game modes to see how they handled processing.

This is Samsung’s way of describing a 4K LED-backlit LCD TV. While it may not incorporate the latest and greatest tech into its design, these models are available in a wide range of sizes. They support HDR content and use smart-TV functionality.
A Quantum Light Emitting Diode TV utilizes extremely tiny particles within each LED pixel. This allows the TV to showcase a vivid color range, noticeably brighter images and more fluid motion. Samsung pioneered the development and marketing of QLED technology, so you can trust that it knows better than anyone how to make a QLED TV.
A NEO QLED TV features a backlight consisting of thousands of micro-LEDs, which allow for superior levels of brightness control, brighter white and deeper black tones, and lifelike levels of detail.
OLED stands for organic light-emitting diode. It's widely considered the top current display technology available and is used in high-end smartphones, laptops and displays. Instead of a backlight, an OLED display's pixels each light up individually.
