If you’re looking for a desktop but want the organization of the Chrome operating system, a Chromebox may be the computer for you. Most Chromeboxes are extremely compact, taking up very little space on your desk. HDMI output is a common feature, making Chromeboxes an easy way to upgrade a TV to a smart tv. Many models sport 8GB of ram, and some come with (or can easily be upgraded to) 32GB of ram. SSDs, or solid-state drives, are common in newer models for lightning-fast storage. Chromeboxes can’t handle most video games, but for users familiar with G Suite and its many apps, a Chromebox might be the ideal desktop computer. With prices between $200 and $1,000, many Chromeboxes offer affordable alternatives to regular tower PCs.
