While the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer can whip, beat and knead, its powerful motor means that even its lowest speed setting is extremely fast, which can lead to spills and messes. The BestReviews Testing Lab found the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer easy to set up and use. Its lightweight design lets you easily lift it out of the box, so you can set it on a stable counter or another surface. Because it has suction cups on the bottom that hold it in place, it’s important to check that the surface is also clean. Next, place the mixing bowl on the rotating plate, holding it in place as you twist the bowl clockwise until it clicks in place. Once the bowl is locked in, press the tilt release button, and push the mixer’s motor head upward. Place the beaters or dough hook in the accessory shaft on the motor head until they click in place, too. You can then press the tilt release button to set the motor head down. 

To mix, add your ingredients to the bowl, not filling it beyond capacity. Check that the speed control is set to “0” or Off before plugging in the mixer. Next, slide the speed control lever to your desired speed between settings 1 and 6, and mix until your ingredients are thoroughly combined.

While many stand mixers take up considerable countertop or cabinet space, this model can fit easily in most kitchens. It has suction cups on the bottom of the base that help keep it stable when it’s in use. The team also liked the lever allowing you to slide the mixing bowl side to side and reach more ingredients while mixing. While the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer’s lightweight design makes moving it around your kitchen easier, the BestReviews Testing Lab found that it didn’t pair well with the mixer’s powerful motor. Even on its lowest setting, the mixer goes incredibly fast and strong, which not only leads to messes on your counter but can prevent your cookie dough or batter from mixing fully. In addition, there isn’t much variation among the speeds, so finding the right setting can be difficult. The printed numbers indicating the speed settings can be difficult to read at certain angles due to the light reflecting off the metallic body behind the numbers. Lastly, the mixer makes a loud, high-pitched whine when in use, which may bother some users. 

Should you get the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer?

While the Dash Everyday Stand Mixer’s budget-friendly price and compact design make it a tempting purchase for home cooks with limited space, the BestReviews Testing Lab concludes that it’s not the best option for serious bakers. Its lightweight design may make it easy to move around your kitchen, but it doesn’t match well with the powerful motor that mixes too fast, even on the lowest speed setting. In addition, because it doesn’t work well with thicker batters, such as chocolate chip cookie dough, the testing lab recommends the mixer for home cooks who are only looking for help whipping cream, mixing egg whites for meringue or making simple sauces.
