Amazon unveils dates and details for Prime Early Access Sale

They say lightning doesn’t strike twice, but this year, Amazon is going to prove them wrong, as we are officially getting a second major sales event in 2022. That means deep, deep discounts on all the items you want and need just before holiday shopping begins. If you missed out on the July 2020 savings extravaganza, for the first time ever, you will have the chance to rectify that oversight with Amazon’s Prime Early Access sale.

When is the Prime Early Access Sale?

By mid-October, there tends to be a brief lull when it comes to shopping, a calm before the holiday season begins. Prime Early Access will take place during the second week of October. Specifically, it will begin at midnight PT on Oct. 11.

How long will the Prime Early Access Sale last?

Prime Early Access is modeled after Prime Day, which hasn’t been a 24-hour sale since 2017. Prime Day has been a 48-hour celebration since 2019. Following suit, Prime Early Access will end at 11:59 p.m. PT on Oct. 12. Forty-eight hours is a Goldilocks time frame: short enough to create urgency, but long enough to give families the time to find what they need.
