Women’s boxing gloves look a lot like men’s gloves, but they have some key differentiating features. Consider the types of workouts you’ll be doing. If you’re going to be using a speed bag, a lightweight style of glove works well. Heavy bag workouts will require sturdier women’s boxing gloves. For sparring sessions, you also will want a sturdier type of women’s glove. Sparring women’s boxing gloves need to be a bit heavier, as they’ll have up to 16 oz. of weight. Other common weights in these gloves are 12 and 14 oz. Much of the weight is padding. A pair of women’s boxing gloves that has more padding will better protect the hands and wrists. If you can afford it, a higher quality glove will consist of genuine leather.
