A stainless steel tea kettle is the classic, rust-proof way to heat water for tea and other hot beverages. It can also double as an attractive kitchen accent. When purchasing one, consider the overall size of the kettle. Does it hold enough water to meet your needs? Kettles should reach a boil quickly, and the handle should be heat-resistant. If it has a whistle, is it loud enough to hear, or too loud? It should be easy to fill the kettle, and the spout should open safely without burning your hands, and be non-drip. If you have an induction stove, check that the kettle will work with it.
