In spite of the popularity of tablets, notebooks haven’t quite gone the way of the dinosaur yet. They’re cheaper, lighter, and don’t require charging. A softcover notebook is particularly light and flexible for easy transport and storage. They can have lined, square, dotted, or unruled paper for writing, making graphs, bullet journaling, or drawing. Half-letter or A5 sizes (about 8.5” x 5.5”) are popular, but letter size or A4 (around 8.5” x 11”) notebooks provide more writing or drawing space. Not all notebook paper can handle ink pens or markers without bleedthrough or ghosting. Some softcover notebooks also come with extra features like a strap to keep it closed, a pocket at the back to put loose scraps of paper, and a bookmark.
