The subtle golden color and extra oil in these hemp seeds made them stand out. Not white and dry like those from competitors. The seeds are soft and creamy. If you're looking to blend the seeds into hemp milk, these would be the best choice.
Sits at a slightly higher price point than it's competitors.
We found the typical nutty flavor that comes with hemp seeds to be prominent in this brand. Unlike other hemp seeds, there was no sour aftertaste with Bob's Red Mill. The flavor pairs wonderfully with Greek yogurt.
The package is quite small (8 oz.). If you know you like hemp seeds, a larger bag that will last longer might be the way to go.
We were impressed with the quality packaging provided by Manitoba Harvest – no moisture is sneaking into that bag. These seeds last a long time in the fridge as well. The flavor is on point with many of the more expensive options on the market, but at a lower price point. We found these seeds blend completely in most blenders.
If blending into smoothies, some of the lower-end blenders leave pieces of seed in your drink.
We loved all the energy-boosting properties the Nativas brand has. You might even be able to switch out coffee in the morning just by adding this to your breakfast or morning smoothie. It blends easily and has the typical hemp seed taste.
The bag is not resealable. Be sure to have a container to store your hemp seeds to prevent them from going bad.
The Just Hemp Foods brand had a subtle taste that was easily masked in any dish that we added them to. Contains a significant amount of protein. An efficient way to pack in the health benefits without compromising taste.
There were a few hulls left in the bag.
Rich in healthy fats and other nutritious minerals, hemp seeds are regarded as a must-have superfood that are actually quite delicious. These seeds may be small, but they pack some serious punch in the benefits that they deliver. Between aiding in digestion, providing a high level of protein and fiber, and aiding in the look and feel of skin, it’s hard to beat this superfood. To add to that, these seeds also have been shown to reduce allergies and depression as well as inflammation.
