With more and more fur babies being given a starring role in weddings or family portraits, it’s little wonder that prêt-à-porter doggie duds are popular. It’s best to seek out designs that allow for toilet freedom and that you can still use a collar and leash with if you are walking your dog in it. Plenty of stretch is a plus, as are easy-to-wash fabrics. Make sure to follow all the measuring directions for sizing carefully, since they vary widely with each brand. Be mindful and make sure your dog doesn’t chew on the fabric or swallow any buttons and bows, either — they should always be supervised when wearing clothing. It may take a few tries before your dog gets used to wearing a dress and doesn’t wriggle out of it, but the Instagram photos will be worth the effort.
