Bookcase beds combine a bed frame with a bay of shelves that gives you extra storage in your bedroom. If your nightstand seems overly crowded, it might be time to consider a bookcase bed.  Most designs feature multiple shelves, which attach to the bed where you might normally find a headboard. Some bed frames include under-bed storage drawers to further maximize your space. Others may fill the space with a trundle unit to give you an extra, flexible sleeping space. Students or individuals who are limited on room might appreciate a loft-style bookcase bed, which maximizes vertical space and places shelving below the raised mattress.
