Way To Celebrate

Easter decor is already hitting the shelves at Walmart

It's rabbit season. The end-of-year holiday stretch feels like it happened only yesterday, yet it’s already time to prepare for one of the new year’s biggest early holidays: Easter Sunday. Easter is a complex holiday that means many things to many people. One thing that everyone can agree on is that it’s a time of joy. Times of joy call for decoration. The two most common themes for Easter decorations are bunnies and eggs. You’ll be inundated with these soon at every store, but if you’re looking to get a hop on things, Walmart already has some excellent items.

How to make Easter eggs

Making your own Easter eggs is a fun way to decorate your home. You can find endless tips for making the very best Easter eggs all over the internet, but the basic steps are generally the same.

  • Step one: Hard-boil your eggs. Start by putting your eggs in a pot, then fill it with cold water until your eggs are covered by about an inch of water. Boil them on high for about 12 minutes. You won’t be eating these, so boil them a little longer if you want to be sure they’re properly hardened. When they’re done, drain the hot water and run cold water over the eggs until they’re safe to touch.
  • Step two: Make your egg dye. McCormick has a recipe that calls for half a cup of boiling water, one teaspoon of white vinegar and enough food coloring until you get a color depth you like, which is about 10 to 20 drops.
  • Step three: Decorate! The only instructions for this step are to have fun.

Way To Celebrate Easter Decorative Wooden Bunny Tray

The Easter Sunday feast is the best part of the holiday for some, regardless of what gets served. Spice up your presentation with this adorable bunny-shaped tray. You can also use it throughout the year for any occasion.

Way To Celebrate Easter Sherpa Bunny Pillow

Themed throw pillows are among the easiest and most impactful decorations you can put out. It doesn’t hurt that they’re also comfortable for guests to rest on between bouts of egg decorating and hunting. Be careful of the little tail, though. It measures 14 by 14 inches.

Way To Celebrate Easter Standing Metallic Gold Resin Bunny

Most Easter decorations are colorful, but few are as sparkly as this bunny. It’s 7 inches tall, making it the perfect size to place just about anywhere. There’s also a laying bunny version of it if you want it to have a friend. It’s durable since it’s made of resin.

Lingouzi Easter Bunny Carrot Garland

Garlands are a wonderful and easy way to spice up areas that are otherwise hard to decorate. You can drape this one on the wall, or a mantel or even on shelves. The rabbits and carrots are soft too, so younger kids could have fun giving them a nice pet. It’s 2 feet long.

Way To Celebrate Easter Clear Acrylic Bunny Decorative Container

This small acrylic container is a great way to draw the eyes of your guests to a small knickknack of your choosing. You can also use it as a trophy case for the best-looking decorative egg made on Easter. It measures 5.12 by 4.9 by 9.8 inches.

Way To Celebrate Easter White Ceramic LED Bunny

This cute and simple bunny with an interior LED light is a nice choice for illuminating your home as Easter Sunday draws to a close. It’s not obviously Easter-related, so you can use it year-round if you’re a big bunny fan. It measures 8.25 by 5.25 by 8.75 inches.

Way To Celebrate Easter Speckled Faux Egg Garland

Another egg-cellent garland for the season, this one is covered with pastel eggs as if they’re some kind of fruit. If you want to be devious, you can plan on hiding some Easter eggs in the garland. Just don’t tangle them up too much or you could face it being ripped down in the hunt. It’s 5 feet long.

Way To Celebrate Easter Egg Wreath

A companion piece to the above egg garland, this wreath keeps the rustic, pastel vibes going. It’s not as great for hiding eggs since garlands tend to be hung too high for younger kids to reach. Plus, there aren’t any secret nooks or crannies like the garland offers.

Nifty Easter Egg Carousel

Decorating eggs is a cherished memory for many kids come Easter Sunday. This carousel gives you a way to proudly display the work while remaining in theme. You may need to bribe some kids with chocolate if their work gets displayed on the bottom row instead of the top.

Way To Celebrate Easter Leaping Bunny

This is a more mature and rustic option for adults who prefer to recognize the holiday without much fuss. Conversely, you could get it as a base for children to decorate as they see fit.

Herrnalise EasterResin Bunny Eggs Easter Decorations

These adorable tabletop decorations are a great way to spruce up any location of your home for Easter. There are four designs to select from, including a thoughtful bunny and a more energetic one. They’re all roughly 5 inches tall, give or take an inch, and about 4 by 4 inches at the base.
