This two- or four-player lawn game is gaining in popularity and is also called ladder toss or ladder golf – notably because it consists of two golf balls connected by a short, thin rope (called bolas), which you then throw and try to get to hang onto the ladder. The ladder has three rungs, and you usually score the most points for getting your bola on the lowest rung (although the opposite can be true, there are lots of variations on the game and scoring). Ladder ball sets contain two ladders, a set of bolas, and sometimes extras like carrying cases. Basic sets cost under $50, while the best ones are about $80.
