11 reusable cloth face masks for everyone in your family

We’ve all been making adjustments to our lives over the past few months thanks to shelter-in-place orders. In most states, though, restrictions are starting to loosen up, which means we can actually think about leaving the house.

But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t still follow social distancing guidelines. Keeping six feet between you and others can help prevent the spread of coronavirus and keep us all healthy. In some situations, though, that’s just not practical, which is why the CDC recommends wearing a face covering when you’re out and about in public.

Cloth face masks are the best option because they’re not only breathable and comfortable to wear, but they leave surgical face masks and other PEP face coverings available for the medical personnel who really need them. A cloth mask is also reusable, so you can wash it over and over and still have a durable covering for your nose and mouth.

If you’re looking for face masks for yourself and the rest of the family, we’ve put together a list of 16 excellent reusable cloth masks for just about everyone.

Citizens of Humanity Cotton Mask 5-Pack: $25 at Citizens of Humanity
Citizens of Humanity usually makes stylish clothing, but they’ve repurposed their sewing facilities to make these 100% cotton face masks. Each pack contains five double-layered masks in an assortment of colors, including white, natural, light denim, and dark denim. They feature tie closures that allow you to get the fit just right and are machine-washable for easy cleaning. For the month of June, Citizens of Humanity is even donating 100 percent of the retail price from sales of the masks to causes fighting injustice like the Children’s Defense Fund.

Onzie Mindful Masks Assorted 2-Pack: $24 at Onzie
Looking for a face mask you can feel really good about owning? TaniriDesigns Cotton Face Mask: $8.99 at Etsy
These jersey cotton face masks are available in a variety of colors, but we especially love the pretty floral prints. They’re made with two layers and feature a built-in filter pocket for increased protection. The masks are super breathable, too, so they’re ideal as the weather warms up.

Polar Angels Reusable Face Mask with Nose Wire: $10 at Etsy
Like many of the face coverings on our list, these masks are handmade in the U.S. from 100 percent cotton. But what sets them apart from the rest is the built-in wire above the nose that allows you to get the most secure fit. They’re available in plenty of fun colors and patterns, too.

Athleta 5 Pack Non-Medical Face Masks: $30 at Athleta
This five-pack of masks is an excellent value for a family and features a breathable three-layered design.
