While the main purpose of the PurSteam 10-in-1 Steam Mop is to disinfect hard floors, it also comes with several attachments and a detachable steamer to reach every nook and cranny in your house. In addition to the two microfiber mop pads, you also receive brushes, nozzles, a squeegee, a scraper, a carpet tool and more.
The brand recommends the appliance for cleaning bathtubs, ovens, refrigerators, windows, grout, upholstery and even cars. Compared to the more than half dozen steam mops we tested, this model has more tools than all the others combined, giving you the ability to clean almost anywhere you can reach. However, we didn’t think the steam cleaning performance was up to par with some of the higher-end steam mops.

Testing the PurSteam 10-in-1
To accurately evaluate the PurSteam 10-in-1, we tested it in real-life situations. We looked at everything from cleaning performance to ease of use to maintenance.
Water tank capacity and usage time
We used the provided cup and funnel to fill the tank with 250 milliliters of water. The first time through, we set the steam to its highest setting and mopped for less than 10 minutes before the tank was empty. It took about two tanks to completely mop an area of 250 square feet. The manual says one tank on high should last around 12 minutes. However, the maximum setting put out a lot of steam, and the vinyl floors were very wet. Based on that, we don’t think you need to use the highest setting, which would let you mop closer to 15 to 20 minutes. The mop makes a ticking sound to let you know when the tank is almost empty. According to the manual, you should immediately turn off the steamer when you hear that noise.
Maneuverability
We used the PurSteam 10-in-1 mop in a combined kitchen and dining room area and purposely didn’t move any furniture so we could test how well it maneuvered around obstacles. Since the mophead swivels, we were able to reach under a table, in corners and beneath cabinets without much effort. We noticed that this steam mop is extremely lightweight compared to other models, making it easy to push and maneuver.

Setup
The PurSteam 10-in-1 Steam Mop arrived well packaged, with everything tightly arranged in the box. Nothing was able to move around or get damaged during shipping. Setting it up took less than five minutes and consisted of sliding the base into the mophead until it clicked and unfolding the handle. If you want to use the steam mop function, you attach the microfiber pad by matching up the hook-and-loop fastener pieces.
Using the handheld steamer and attachments is also effortless. You remove it from the main body by pressing a release button. You then install the Steamer Jet or other attachment by pushing it on and locking it into place. The Steamer Jet also acts as a connector for some of the smaller tools. When you’re done with the attachments, unlock the tool and place the handheld steamer back into the body. While everything is pretty intuitive, the manual also outlines all the instructions.
Design and ease of use
The PurSteam 10-in-1 has a fairly effective design and is effortless to use. First, the removable handheld steamer and attachments go on and off easily without much effort. We also noticed that it was extremely lightweight and simple to carry from one room to the next or put away when you’re done. When you’re ready to store it, the handle folds down, allowing it to fit in fairly compact spaces (although it’s small even without folding down the handle).
While it doesn’t look expensive, it isn’t bad-looking either. We do question its durability, especially since it’s made entirely of thin plastic. Also, we’re not sure if the hook-and-loop fasteners on the mop pads will hold up over time. It comes with a cup and a funnel to fill the water tank, and while they are helpful to ensure there are no spills, they are more pieces to keep track of and store. A smart design feature is that the PurSteam 10-in-1 can stand on its own if you need to step away briefly.
Cleaning performance
The manual indicates that it should take about 30 seconds to preheat the steam mop, and we timed it at around 25 to 30 seconds. After that time, the PurSteam 10-in-1 was very hot and ready to begin cleaning. We turned the steam knob to the highest setting and noticed that it was very powerful and perfect for stubborn stain cleaning. It unearthed a lot of dirt and grime from the vinyl flooring. We went over each area several times to make sure we were getting the mop’s full sanitizing power. We were super impressed by the amount of pressure and steam released and how well the mop was able to steam out the dirt that we couldn’t remove with a regular mop.
However, the mop pad was underwhelming when it came to wiping up all of the water, and it seemed as though it was just pushing the dirty water around. For example, after mopping, we wiped the floor with a clean cloth and wiped up more dirty water. This probably won’t be a big problem if you don’t use the steam mop on the highest setting. The mop pad was soaked by the end of cleaning and likely couldn’t absorb any more water.
Features and accessories
The star features of the PurSteam 10-in-1 Steam Mop are the handheld steamer and attachments. We found that they worked extremely well and could be used for almost every area of the home.
Big Brush and Small Brush
The manual recommends using these brushes for ovens, showers, bathtubs, tile and stone cleaning, toys, refrigerators and pretty much anything else you can think of. We used it on the shower and bathtub, and it cleaned much more efficiently than scrubbing without steam. It’s important to note that the manual warns that the brushes might scratch some surfaces.
Angled Nozzle
This is ideal for use in any areas that are particularly hard to reach, including stovetops, sinks, refrigerators and inside vehicles. We used this nozzle on a table with several glass inserts that are magnets for food crumbs. With such small openings, it’s very difficult to completely clean each side, but this nozzle blew out all the crumbs and left the area clean.
Double Brush Tool
This tool is recommended for use on grout. We didn’t notice a huge difference when we tested it on our grout because the grout wasn’t particularly dirty.
Scrape Tool
This tool is perfect for cleaning cooktops, ovens or countertops. It can scrape off baked-on food, grease and any other substance with ease.
Steamer Jet
This is probably the most versatile tool because it can be used on pretty much anything, including sinks, faucet grout, microwaves and other areas that are particularly hard to reach. It can also be attached to some of the smaller tools, including the Double Brush Tool, Small and Big Brush Tools, Angled Nozzle and Scrape Tool.
Squeegee
Scrubbing windows can sometimes scratch them, but the Squeegee attachment gets windows sparkling in no time. We tested it on a sliding glass door that is often covered with dog slobber, paw marks and tiny hand prints. It can also be used on mirrors and shower doors. Plus, it is also the adapter used for steaming garments and fabrics.
Garment Steamer
To use this steamer, attach the smaller cleaning cloth, then slowly move it over sofas, curtains, tablecloths or clothes. We did a few passes on the sofa and were impressed (and disgusted) by how much dirt it was able to pick up. Since the high steam setting is so powerful, we kept the knob at the middle and lower end so as not to leave the cushions wet. The fabric seemed a little stiff right away but eventually dried back to normal.
Microfiber Cloth
This cloth does a decent job of scrubbing out dirt or stains from floors. However, it wasn’t able to absorb much water and ended up pushing around the dirty water near the end of mopping.
Carpet Glider
This clips onto the mophead and proved to be the only attachment that was difficult to attach. It took some force and finesse to get it affixed properly. Its performance wasn’t remarkable, but it is nice if you want to refresh your carpets.
How does it compare to other steam mops we’ve tested?
Other than the PurSteam 10-in-1 Steam Mop, the two comparable steam mops we’ve tested are the Shark S5003D Genius Hard Floor Cleaning System Pocket Steam Mop and the Shark S3501 Steam Pocket Mop.This PurSteam 10-in-1 Steam Mop has the highest pressure of any of the three. However, because the output is so high, it leaves some dirty streaks behind. It also has the shortest cord and the smallest water tank. On the upside, it was the easiest to push. The PurSteam 10-in-1 Steam Mop was also the only one with lots of accessories to clean almost any space in your home or car, and we think this fact sets this mop apart from the other options.
Should you get the PurSteam 10-in-1 Steam Mop?
Overall, the PurSteam 10-in-1 is a decent budget-friendly steam mop with outstanding accessories and tools. Since it has a small water tank, it’s best suited for a smaller house or apartment. Based on our testing, we would recommend the PurSteam 10-in-1 to anyone more excited about the tools and willing to overlook a few inconveniences with the mop.
