The Titan Evo 2022 is a specialized gaming chair designed for comfort while remaining seated for long periods. It has a four-way lumbar support structure to improve your posture, adjustable armrests and backing and comes with a magnetic memory foam head pillow. 

The Secretlab PlushCell Memory Foam Armrests are an additional accessory you bundle with the Titan Evo. By default, the Titan Evo ships with rugged, semi-hard armrests, which many gamers don’t find comfortable. The PlushCell armrests are a replacement part that make the chair arms a lot softer.

The Titan Evo is available from Secretlab for $589 for the regular fit chair with the SoftWeave fabric. You can also customize your color scheme for a few dollars more, and if you want to add the PlushCell armrests, it's an additional $79. You can also buy them separately for the same price if you already have a compatible Secretlab chair.

How to use the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 and PlushCell Armrests

The Titan Evo 2022 is used just as you would any other gaming chair. It ships in a relatively heavy box, and there is some assembly before it can be used. Generally, it should take about 30 minutes to set up. When you buy the PlushCell armrests as part of the bundle, they're already installed. However, to attach them yourself, the existing armrest is held in place with magnets, which clip off easily. 

There's a toolset that comes with the chair, and it's like putting the puzzle together. The testing team indicated that it wasn’t too difficult, but two people would be better toward the end. When you see the individual pieces, you realize how much detail such a gaming chair can have.

The testing lab felt the chair was well-designed, solid and comfortable. It has a mid-range softness, which is the perfect balance between support and comfort. In addition to the backrest reclining several steps, the armrests can swivel in different directions, the seat can be lowered or heightened and the headrest pillow is removable.

The default armrests that come with the Titan Evo 2022 felt harder and more plasticky than the additional PlushCell armrests and they can produce moisture from body heat. However, the additional PlushCell memory foam armrests easily replace the regular armrests by detaching the magnets. 

The testing lab notes that the PlushCell armrests held their shape, and it feels like you're sitting on a couch or a nice chair instead of a gaming chair. The armrests' texture is like velvet but not fuzzy and just firm enough not to be soft.

The lower-back arch area could be improved. It would be great if buyers could customize the thickness of the backrest to their body shape. The chair is also more expensive than what most people are willing to pay, but then again, the quality and upholstery are fantastic. 

While the PlushCell Memory Foam Armrests are excellent, the testing team's only concern was the texture, which can be challenging to clean. To prevent any stains or damage, it would go a long way if you had the option to coat the fabric with a water-repellent substance.

If you're looking for a high-quality gaming chair, the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 is a superb choice. It’s comfortable without being too firm, and all the parts will keep their shape. The customizable parts add a thoughtful touch, injecting some personality into the design.

There is no doubt that you should pair the chair with the PlushCell Memory Foam Armrests. The default set included with the chair can feel uncomfortable, but the PlushCell armrests quickly change that. It’s a beneficial accessory if you plan on spending a lot of time in front of the computer.
