Furniture protectors offer customers a way to shield couches, chairs, and ottomans from the annoyances of pet hair, claw marks, food, and beverage spills, as well as daily wear and tear. Furniture covers often come in 3 main constructions, each with their own pros and cons: the slipcover, the plastic cover, and the couch cover. A slipcover is usually the most fashionable of the 3, as its tuck-in system provides a clean, wrinkle-free look. However, slipcovers are rarely water-resistant, which can prove problematic for spills and pet urine. Plastic covers are not strong enough to withstand pet nails but usually give customers complete protection from liquids and food. Regular couch covers are somewhat fashionable and relatively protective, and may be a good compromise between slipcovers and plastic construction.
