The season of giving is far from over — even if you crossed most people off your gift list between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now on Giving Tuesday, you have the opportunity to shop retailers that celebrate the season with charitable efforts.

On Giving Tuesday, which falls on Dec. 1 this year, you can shop these retailers that embrace philanthropic efforts, both today and all year long. Here’s our updated compilation featuring retailers — including small businesses and minority-owned companies — that give back.

Retailers that donate directly

AmazonSmile: Donates to your favorite charity close to home or around the world.

The AmazonSmile Foundation donates 0.5% of eligible purchases to your preferred charity. Simply sign up by visiting to choose your charity and begin shopping. You can even track your impact on the AmazonSmile page.

Backcountry: Allows consumers to donate to the Nature Conservancy at checkout on Giving Tuesday.

Backcountry partnered with The Nature Conservancy over a decade ago to protect and restore natural landscapes and habitats. At checkout, you can donate $1, $3, or $5 to help fund projects to plant trees, support ranger dogs, or restore a coral reef.

Best Buy: Invites consumers to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at checkout.

Since 2013, Best Buy has raised over $100 million dollars for the children’s hospital. Donations, which begin at one dollar, sponsor ground-breaking research projects, pay for hospital costs, or go directly to families whose children are undergoing lifesaving treatment. 

Soapbox: Doubles the number of soap donations on Giving Tuesday and is incentivizing purchases by offering 15% off online purchases with the code GIVE2020.

Soapbox has an ongoing mission to support and empower vulnerable communities both in the U.S. and globally. The back of all Soapbox products feature “Hope Codes” where consumers can see photos of projects and learn about the company’s ongoing charity efforts.

This cuddly 16-inch teddy is hand-stitched and has weighted paws and floppy legs. In addition to its noble donation, the teddy is considered a popular all-ages gift, especially for those in need of “a little comfort, a little safe, and a little brave.”

Dress for Success: Portion of proceeds for each purchase from the site creates an opportunity for a Dress for Success woman.

This Giving Tuesday, Dress for Success is partnering with retailers like Lane Bryant, Ann Taylor, Corepower Yoga, Wander Beauty, and Mineral Fusion. The shopping event raises money to empower women and help them achieve economic independence. 

Mineral Fusion: Donates 10% of sales from their Liquid Foundations collection in partnership with the Dress for Success Giving Tuesday shopping event.

Mineral Fusion’s Liquid Foundations collection is now more inclusive with 24 shades, plus they’re vegan and cruelty-free. They’re also EWG Verified, and adhere to high standards for manufacturing, sourcing, and labeling practices that align with human and environmental health.

Alex & Ani: Gives 20% of proceeds toward the charitable works of One Simple Wish.

This year’s limited edition Charity By Design charm bangle helps One Simple Wish, a non-profit dedicated to bringing hope and joy to children in the foster care system. Donations help grant wishes submitted by agencies part of the charity’s Community Partner Network.

Retailers with ongoing charity efforts

Williams Sonoma: Gives 50% of profits of Williams Sonoma x Trevor Project.

Williams Sonoma recently rolled out a colorful, inclusive line of kitchen accessories benefitting the Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization of LGBTQ young people. You can also donate directly to the Trevor Project with any purchase, too.

Alaffia: Portion of proceeds are sent to Togo in West Africa to fund community empowerment and gender equality projects.

In addition to being a Fair Trade company that employs Togolese women at respectable wages, Alaffia runs a non-profit charity. It serves as a platform that brings maternal care, education, environmental sustainability, and eye health resources to West African women and children.

Delicora: Donates 20 meals to fight hunger through Feeding America with every piece sold.

Delicora aims to capture a woman’s individuality with unique, sophisticated pieces. The company has a history of donating locally to schools and libraries in Santa Cruz, as well as Dress for Success, Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services, and Save Our Children.

Andalou Naturals: Proceeds from sales support non-profit organizations dedicated to women and girls’ empowerment. 

Andalou Naturals fosters female empowerment year-round through their partnerships with Vital Voices, a non-profit that invests in women leaders in 182 countries, and SHE-CAN, a non-profit that fosters female leadership in post-conflict nations. 

Scoria World: Donates 10 meals through Feeding Children Everywhere with every yoga mat purchase.

Scoria World manufactures high-quality, cork yoga mats and accessories. Ever since the brand began its partnership with Feed the Children, they have donated over 100,000 meals to children in developing or underserved communities around the world.

Mini + Meep: Donates a meal to a child in need with every purchase.

Mini + Meep, an organic baby and toddler clothing brand, has donated over 24,000 weekend meals to children dependent on school lunches. Products are made in an environmentally, socially, and economically responsible manner with USA-grown and spun cotton.

She Native: Gives 2% of profits to economic growth programs benefiting Indigenous women.

She Native designs leather handbags and apparel that share Indigenous teachings passed down by ancestors. The company is currently spotlighting the “Be Strong” collection, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Saskatoon Interval House, a temporary shelter for women and children escaping domestic violence.

Popsockets: Donates 50% of Poptivism PopGrip product purchases to charity.

Popsockets have raised more than $1.1 million for charities like American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Doctors Without Borders. You can also submit your own Poptivism PopGrip design and choose a cause or charity that benefits from each sale.

Leesa Mattress: Portion of mattress purchases contribute to Leesa’s One Good Bed Promise mission.

Leesa Mattress is committed to giving underserved children comfortable, supportive mattresses made of high-quality foam. To date, the mattress retailer has donated over 37,000 mattresses through 1,000 partners including local partners for Covenant House and the Salvation Army.

Warby Parker: Supports healthcare workers in high-risk communities around the world.

In response to COVID-19, Warby Parker has partnered with VisionSpring to distribute personal protective equipment and hygiene kits to healthcare workers in the high-risk areas of India, Bangladesh, and sub-Saharan African. 

RoHo: Partners with four artisan groups across Kenya to create fair-paying work for women.

The home goods and accessories company provides a safe working environment for over 40 female artisans. 

Retailers that give back to the environment

Nomadix: Donates 1% of sales to environmental causes through partnerships with Surfrider Foundation and Fifty-Nine Parks. 

Nomadix sells towels made using post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. They’re highly absorbent, sustainable, and colored without harmful dyes that contribute to waste and water pollution. The brand is also a member of the 1% for the Planet and Conservation Alliance.

Allbirds: Sources and manufacturers its products sustainably to reduce its carbon footprint.

As of 2019, Allbirds is Carbon Neutral for its entire supply chain. The clothing and footwear brand is committed to verified emissions reduction projects, including tree conservation and wind energy efforts. Allbirds has also donated over $500,000 of shoes to frontline workers this year.

Pura Vida: Donates 5% of purchase price of charity-related product pages to charity partners.

Pura Vida’s charming bracelets do more than adorn wrists — they help fund conservation and environmental awareness projects for charities like the Rainforest Trust and the Oceanic Preservation Society. Best of all, donations are made quarterly to expedite projects.

Conscious Step: Donates to a variety of environmental causes, including planting trees.

Conscious Step is best known for its “Socks that Plant Trees” collection, in which a portion of each purchase goes toward conservation projects with Trees for the Future. The socks are sustainable, vegan, organic, and Fair Trade Certified.

Proud Pour: Gives 5% of top-line revenue to support critical restoration work of 22 environmental partners.

Proud Pour lets consumers know exactly where their donations go. A bottle of Pinot for Bees plants 35 sq. ft. of a bee habit, while a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc helps restore 100 wild oysters to estuary ecosystems — just to name a few projects.
