Furnishing a home is no easy task, but CORT offers a way to make the whole ordeal more manageable. Instead of shopping at various retailers for furniture and trying to get the best price, CORT’s rental service provides a wide selection that you don’t have to commit to long-term.
CORT’s furniture rental service piqued our curiosity, so we sent one of our testers on a mission to try it out. There’s a lot to love about it, but first, we’ll get into what our testing mission was about and what we decided to try.

We rented the Chelsey Sleeper Sofa, which can be used in an open or closed position. It arrived assembled and ready to go, and fitting it through most doorways isn’t complicated. However, tighter corners and stairwells are a bit trickier.
The Chelsea Sleeper Sofa is designed for one-person operation, meaning you can convert it into a sofa or bed with minimal effort. Some effort can be expected when extending and folding the bed platform, but it’s nothing to worry about for the average adult, and you won’t need any instructions either. Also, the sleeper frame operates slowly with minimal noise.
In sofa mode, the sleeper has a 38-inch depth, a low-arm profile, and offers a more upright sitting position, rather than “lounging.” It’s upholstered in a brown/gray polyester menswear-style tweed fabric, which gives it a striking, sophisticated look.
Once in bed mode, we immediately noticed that a mattress topper would be ideal for frequent use. It’s a relatively flat sleeping service, and although it’s not super comfortable, it’s fine for occasional use by guests.
The frame, along with the wooden legs, is very sturdy, and the fabric looks like it’ll hold up well against stretching, fading and light abrasion. It’s very stable when fully opened, and we didn’t notice any signs of excessive wobble or tipping risk during use.
The Chelsey Sleeper Sofa is excellent if you have a small space that needs furnishing because not only does it provide everyday living-room seating, it’s basically a queen-sized bed as well, and you won’t need a guest room to put it in, thanks to its convertible design. Its neutral fabric makes it ideal for almost any room, and the 79-inch width is perfect for most apartments.
The only drawback is that, because it's a sleeper sofa, it’s significantly heavier than standard couches, making moving it to another room more of a hassle.
The Chelsea Sleeper Sofa is heavy and comes pre-assembled, so having CORT’s team deliver it to us was crucial. CORT’s rental service is flexible, so if you want to switch things up or if you’re planning on moving out, you can just call or place an online order, and they’ll quickly grab your old furniture.
We recommend CORT’s rental service if you’re looking to furnish apartments, multipurpose rooms, first homes and guest accommodations, or if you’re a renter seeking space-saving functionality. They have a large catalog of high-quality furniture, and you won’t need to deal with the hassle of moving your furniture or bringing it back yourself if you don’t want it anymore.
