BestReviews never stops testing new and established products. We are driven to find the best items, things that are a great value that will truly satisfy consumers. Each month, we compile a list of favorites, products we tested in the months prior which rose to the top because they were exceptional. The BestReviews Testing Lab is made up of a broad range of individuals. Some are experts with a product, while others are first-time users. These people research and evaluate the manufacturer's claims to first make sure the products perform as expected. Then they test the features in a real-world situation to make sure they are of value to the consumer. Testers also push the limits of items to find any weak points or anything that might make them stand apart from the competition.
After the test results have been documented, BestReviews donates the gently used items to places where they will do the most good. For products tested in December and January, products were donated to Infusion, Lyrical Opposition and Urban Schoolhouse.

With its automatic mixing and dispensing of cleaning solution, the Testing Lab gave the SmartWash+ high marks in intuitive, user-friendly operation. It is recommended for anyone who wants to keep home carpets looking fresh and new. We like that you can quickly grab it for immediate stain care.
Greenworks 13 Amp 1500-PSI 1.2 GPM Pressure Washer
This pressure washer has a built-in handle that makes it easy to carry along as you work. We were impressed that it operated equally well in both vertical and horizontal positions. Overall, this model is a solid choice for individuals looking for a balance of power and low cost.
PowRyte Electric Pressure Washer
If you need an affordable pressure washer for general outdoor cleaning tasks, such as refreshing your driveway and walkways or getting rid of mold and mildew on your deck, this model performed surprisingly well in real-world applications. It does have limitations, such as a short hose, but the low price still makes it a value.
Shark S5003D Genius Hard Floor Cleaning System Pocket Steam Mop
If you are in search of a versatile, intuitive and powerful steam mop that can handle just about any mess, this model comes highly recommended from the Testing Lab. It cleans up efficiently and doesn't leave dirty water streaks behind. We also loved that we controlled it through the press of a button instead of a dial.
Dirt Devil Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner
Because of this model's compact size, it is easy to transport, letting you clean any mess you find, whether it is in the basement or in your SUV. The smaller tank might mean more refills, but it also makes the Dirt Devil easier to handle. We found it to be extremely effective at dealing with pet hair and other pet-related messes.
The PurSteam Steam Mop is another budget-friendly option. While the Testing Lab concluded it worked best on floors, the many attachments offer astounding versatility, letting you clean in any room of the house. The water heats up in about 30 seconds and the swivel head makes it easy to clean around furniture.
Ryobi RY141802 1800 PSI 1.2 GPM Cold Water Corded Electric Pressure Washer
This model isn't a top-of-the-line option. It is a budget pressure washer for homeowners looking for an easier way to solve outside cleaning tasks. The Testing Lab does not recommend this for heavy-duty work, but if you have light-duty maintenance tasks and you don't want to spend a lot of money, this is a solid option.
Sun Joe SPX3000 Electric Pressure Washer
Even though this model was a little heavier than expected, we really liked the way it performed. With the most powerful nozzle, the narrow stream of water can strip paint, so you can use this on your toughest cleaning tasks. This pressure washer performed so well that we were surprised it didn't cost more.
Simpson Cleaning CM61083 Clean Machine 3400 PSI Gas Pressure Washer
This model is on our list for individuals who require a pressure washer for heavy-duty applications. It is ridiculously powerful. Thanks to the large pneumatic tires, it is easy to transport. This model tested beyond what is needed for typical home use and would be best suited for professionals.
