If you’re like me, and you most likely are, you’re not brushing your teeth long enough, and you're definitely not flossing often enough. In reality, most people don’t — in fact, millions struggle with poor oral care every day. With the launch of Dyson's newest product — the CameraJet, a smart toothbrush that promises to improve the health of your teeth and gums at the touch of a button — attaining a set of pearly whites has never been easier.

Dyson has mastered floor care, haircare, and air treatments, so it’s not surprising it's taking the attention to detail it's known for and putting it where everyone can really use it: oral care. The company’s latest gadget features a 100K macro pixel lens powered by what they call Gap Optical Targeting: Dyson’s AI machine-learning algorithm. The camera takes 28 images per second as you brush, catching the spots where plaque builds up most — the gaps between your teeth — in real time. In response, the water flosser feature activates and sends a stream of mouth rinse where it’s needed, breaking down plaque with a unique conical spray that widens the coverage area without being harsh on teeth and gums.
If this wasn’t high-tech or fancy enough, you can also use the camera like an endoscope. Simply open the MyDyson app and view your cleaning session just like your dentist would. The app also provides insights into your brushing and flossing, maps how well you clean your teeth, and even offers personalized feedback. Plus, the images captured by the CameraJet can only be viewed while brushing. They aren’t recorded or stored on the device or in the cloud and are solely for your use.
While some might consider this new smart device to be a little intrusive and fairly pricey, the ability to actively improve your oral health might just be worth it, as it is directly linked to other health conditions like Alzheimer’s and heart disease. And, just think: shinier teeth, healthier gum tissue, and the real kicker — less bad breath.
The built-in camera on this smart toothbrush captures 28 live images per second while you brush, targeting the gaps between teeth where plaque thrives, and uses the water flosser feature to target the build-up usually missed with standard equipment. The live feed is accessible via the app, so you can watch in real time as you brush, make adjustments, and get feedback that will help improve your oral health. It comes with a contoured double-bristle brush head designed to reach more of the tooth’s surface, which helps to lift surface stains and gently clean along the gumline.
Dyson CameraJet dual-bristle sensitive brush heads (Pack of two)
This brush head is designed specifically for sensitive teeth. The unique contour of the bristles is designed to reach plaque like other brushes don’t, while lifting surface stains for whiter teeth. The bristles are also softer than standard options to help eliminate pain while you brush, and it’s backed with silicone for a softer feel in the mouth. It features RFID alerts so you’ll know when to replace the brush. These brush heads only work with the Dyson CameraJet smart toothbrush and come in a pack of two.
