A rice cooker is a kitchen appliance that makes cooking rice easy and allows you to achieve that perfect sticky texture when you’re making sushi rice. With a rice cooker, you can also make perfect sushi rice and steam vegetables at the same time.
The recipe we used called for the following ingredients:
2 cups of brown rice
3 cups of water
1/2 cup of rice vinegar
1/4 cup of white sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
First, measure the rice and rinse it in a strainer with small enough holes that the grains don’t slip through.
Then, put the rinsed rice in the pot in the rice cooker.
Next, add the water, rice vinegar, white sugar, and salt to the pot.
Put the pot in the rice cooker. Then, put your desired vegetables (we used carrots) in the steam tray and place it over the pot.
Close the lid and select “brown rice” and allow the rice and vegetables to cook.
When they are done, you are well on your way to making sushi rolls.
