Bottom Line

A well-made model offering powerful suction, impressive battery life, and excellent mapping ability at a great price point.

Pros

Uses lidar to properly map your home for efficient navigation. Exceptionally quiet, this option comes in at a lower decibel level than others on our list. The 5,000 Pa suction is ideal for hard floors and tile, but also works for Wilton carpet. Effectively picks up debris and pet hair with ease. Its battery life is a formidable 120 minutes. Transitions from hardwood to carpet without needing assistance.

Cons

A few customers received units that didn't last very long.

Slim Power
Bottom Line

This model stands out for its cleaning power and great price, earning our cleaning expert's praise.

Pros

We love the small size of this model, which can move around the home without becoming an obstacle. The 1,300 Pa of vacuum power is enough to handle the cleaning needs of the average family, and the BoostIQ technology automatically senses where more suction is needed for dirtier areas. The 100 minutes of battery life on a full charge compares favorably with other units of this size.

Cons

Due to its compact size, filters may need to be cleaned more frequently than some larger models.

Knows Its Boundaries
Bottom Line

This newest eufy model is also the most powerful; our expert notes that it is self-charging and works on all floor types.

Pros

The 1,500 Pa vacuum power is strong enough for heavy jobs. Compact and quiet; includes the popular BoostIQ technology available on other eufy units, along with an impressive 100 minutes of battery life. This model also comes equipped with the ability to set boundary strips, which tell the vacuum to stay confined to a specific area rather than clean an entire room.

Cons

As with other compact models, filter cleaning may be required after each room in order to maintain suction power.

We appreciated its impressive obstacle detection and ability to avoid drops. Navigation and suction power also impressed in our testing. Boasts great cornering and edge cleaning. Can be controlled precisely with its remote. Runs up to 100 minutes before needing to be recharged. We love how well it worked on a variety of surfaces including thicker carpets.

Cons

Side brushes kept detaching between the carpet and hard floor. May struggle with larger debris.

Buying guide for Best eufy robotic vacuum cleaners

The RoboVac was one of the first products created by eufy, and it has continued to improve on the robotic vacuum cleaner ever since with its motto of “Smart Home Simplified.” But with so many versions of the RoboVac on the market, it might be hard to see how these otherwise similar-looking floor cleaners differ without comparing them closely.

What distinguishes the three different RoboVac models that have similar names? Are there any features that you should look for in a RoboVac? What’s the most important thing to keep in mind when buying a RoboVac? The good news is that we’ve unleashed a few RoboVac models into our homes and offices to see for ourselves what makes these little robotic vacuum cleaners special. You’ll find what we’ve learned in this guide, along with a few of our favorites.

Several RoboVac models are compatible with Amazon Alexa.

Key considerations

Suction power

Perhaps the biggest difference between individual RoboVacs is the suction power, and it may also be the biggest factor that determines whether you feel that your robotic vacuum did a good job of cleaning your home.

1,000 Pa: A RoboVac sporting a suction strength of 1 000 pascals (Pa) is certainly acceptable, but since these robotic vacuum cleaners can easily cost over $200 to begin with, it’s worth investing in a stronger model.

1,300 Pa: Models featuring a suction power of 1,300 Pa are certainly capable of cleaning up after the average family.

1,500 Pa: The strongest RoboVac models have an impressive level of suction power at 1,500 Pa, which should easily tackle any sort of dust or dirt disaster the robotic vacuum cleaner may encounter.

Expert Tip
Keeping your filters cleaned will help your vacuum run a lot longer.

Boundary strips

Most RoboVacs can vacuum for up to 100 minutes before needing to recharge. While it may not be a big deal for many buyers, some people prefer to set some boundaries for their new robotic vacuum cleaner. If you absolutely must keep your RoboVac out of certain rooms, a few models include magnetic boundary strips that will make sure it only cleans where you want it to.

Eufy robotic vacuum features

While all RoboVac models share many features, such as a slim design or a three-filter system, some of these robotic vacuum cleaners bring something new to the table altogether. Since many of the differences between older and updated RoboVac versions may seem minimal at first glance, we recommend looking for exclusive features that set each robotic vacuum cleaner apart from the crowd.

Smartphone and voice control

Newer models offer you more control over the RoboVac via a companion app or voice commands with Amazon Alexa. It beats using a plastic remote or having to hunt down your vacuum to press its buttons!

Slim design

Every RoboVac is short, so it can clean under your furniture, but newer models are even shorter. Just in case you need to measure the gap under your living room couch, older RoboVacs are 3.1 inches tall, while newer RoboVacs tend to be a slightly shorter at 2.85 inches.

Self-charging

While it’s nice to come home to a vacuumed home after work, who wants to carry a full RoboVac back to the charger? Some of the newer and smarter RoboVacs automatically roll back to the charger as soon as the battery gets low.

Expert Tip
Be mindful to pick up or sweep up larger debris so that it doesn’t clog or take up space in the dust container of the vacuum.

Scheduling

One premium option is the ability to select a cleaning mode and a time and let your RoboVac automatically get to work on your schedule. Many of the newer RoboVacs include a range of automatic cleaning options.

Eufy robotic vacuum prices

Let’s not beat around the bush here: eufy RoboVacs aren’t cheap. These high-tech robotic vacuums cost between $170 and $270, and unless you’re willing to settle for an older model, expect to pay upwards of $200 for one.

Don’t get us wrong: $170 is an excellent deal for an older RoboVac version, but your decision should boil down to comparing the little things, such as whether you prefer controlling the RoboVac with a remote control or the voice-activated technology built into newer models.

Since eufy crams more features and better performance into each new RoboVac, if you’re comparing robotic vacuums in the $250 and up range, you may as well spend a little extra to get the best features, such as a quieter motor, slimmer design, and smartphone controls.

Expert Tip
Make sure any lamp and charging cords are up and out of the way. This will allow the vacuum to work more effectively.

Tips

  • Do not allow your RoboVac to vacuum up liquids, sharp objects, burning matter (cigarette butts, ashes), chemicals, or pet feces.

  • Take note of the colored lights on your RoboVac. The colored lights are there to indicate its status. For instance, a solid blue light means that the robotic vacuum is fully charged, while a solid orange light denotes a low battery.

  • Check the colors of your floors. The RoboVac is easily confused by dark-colored floors, which may make the device unable to locate its charging station or cause it to become “lost” along its intended cleaning pattern. If you have very dark flooring, a RoboVac may not be the best fit for your home.

  • Clean the rolling brush periodically. If the rolling brush on your RoboVac isn’t spinning or is making noise, clean the brush and double-check to make sure it’s installed correctly.

  • Keep your RoboVac attached to its charging base when not in use. This will keep the vacuum’s batteries running strong for a long time.

  • Empty the RoboVac’s dust compartment after every other vacuuming session.

Content Image
We can’t recommend buying a RoboVac if your home is lined with thick carpeting or plush rugs over 1.02 inches deep. These devices won’t perform as intended if they’re forced to work on deep carpets.

FAQ

Q. How long does it take to fully charge a RoboVac?

A. All of the many different RoboVac variations reach 100% battery capacity after five to six hours.

Q. I’m afraid that my RoboVac will fall down the stairs. Does that happen?

A. No worries! These robot vacuum cleaners are equipped with drop sensors that stop the device from plummeting over edges. With that said, its sensors can be fooled by dark-colored flooring, so if the dark carpet on your second floor is a concern, consider blocking off the edge to keep your RoboVac safe.

Q. What is the BoostIQ technology that some RoboVac models have?

A. While most robotic vacuum cleaners blindly bumble about their confined space, a RoboVac with BoostIQ will stop and increase its suction power if it encounters a particularly big mess or is forced to run over a thicker carpet. Once it has dealt with the tougher obstacle, BoostIQ returns to its normal power level. Note that BoostIQ is the default setting on any RoboVac model that incorporates this feature.
