11 celebrity-owned brands to help you achieve your 2023 wellness resolutions

Many celebrities have started companies based on their interests and passions. Actor Ryan Reynolds owns cell phone company Mint Mobile and a Welsh soccer team. Rock star Sammy Hagar owns a tequila company. Oprah Winfrey has a cable network and media empire.

Many celebrities also own businesses in the health and wellness field, focusing on everything from fitness to skin care to supplements to apparel. Many of these companies are environmentally conscious, and there are even a few that donate all or portions of their profits to charitable organizations. Your 2023 wellness resolutions might be served by one of these companies and their product line.

Are celebrity-owned companies legitimate?

What does Halle Berry know about fitness equipment?  Or Jennifer Lopez about cosmetics?  Probably more than we realize, but most celebrities don't run their companies by themselves. They partner with experts in science, technology, health care and manufacturing to ensure that their products are high quality, effective and marketable.

Are celebrity-owned companies socially responsible?

Most celebrity-owned companies use organic materials and follow responsible manufacturing processes. Because of their fame, celebrities usually want their names associated with products that don't harm the environment and promote the greater good.

Additionally, since celebrities tend to have large social media followings, they have millions of eyes and ears collectively watching to make sure that these companies do the right thing in how they make, market and support their products.

Celebrity endorsement doesn't guarantee best quality

Just because your favorite actor or athlete owns and endorses a certain product line, it doesn't mean that product shares the same quality as their performance on screen or the athletic field.

Your best approach is to look at consumer reviews compiled by trusted online and social media sources. You'll find that many celebrity-owned companies make high-quality products and services that deliver everything you're looking for.

But there are some that receive consistently poor consumer reviews. These are typically companies where the celebrity is a part owner from afar and has little involvement in the company's mission and operations. Or it could be a situation where the celebrity's endorsement was purchased without consideration for the product's quality. Again, trusting the public's collective feedback is your best bet.
