Amazon Prime Day deals we’ve already taken advantage of

Last Updated July 2020

Amazon Prime Day has become a national phenomenon that most of America participates in and everyone here at BestReviews is no different. We knew what deals we were targeting before the sales went live (and Amazon’s site momentarily sputtered).

Here are the products we couldn’t resist buying this Prime Day.

Instant Pot

It felt like I was the only person in the office to not have one already. After hours of testing, it’s clear the Instant Pot is a top-of-the-line machine and as the primary chef in my house, I can’t wait to impress my family with complicated meals that can be whipped up in no time.  — Becca, Product Manager

I’ve been testing different robotic vacuums in my apartment for weeks and have determined that life is much better with one in the house. Having something to take care of cleaning the floors means I have more time to tidy up in other ways. The ECOVACS DEEBOT isn’t as advanced as our Best of the Best, the Roomba 980, but it’s considerably more affordable. And I had to jump at it being marked down 40%. — Jacob, Editorial Manager

Fire TV Stick

Watching TV is an after-work unwind, and with the Fire Stick, it’ll be that much easier. After a hard day of work, it seems nice to simply kick back and tell my remote to find something to watch and chill for the evening. At just $19.99, why would I use a basic remote control? — Momchil, CEO

Amazon Echo

Finally, I will have someone in my house who always listens to me (my husband can "echo" this sentiment, too, I am sure). Whether it’s playing my favorite song to get me revved up for the day to knowing what to wear thanks based on Alexa’s weather report — based on both where I live, where I commute, and around our office — the Echo is sure to become a household fixture. — Katie, Editorial Director

iFox iF012 Bluetooth Shower Speaker

I’ve been playing music while in the shower for so long I used to bring a boombox in the bathroom. With the iFox Bluetooth Shower Speaker, I can leave my phone in the other room and still play my entire library. It connects through Bluetooth and can be suction-cupped to the wall of my shower, making it a must-have for those of us who can’t bathe without some tunes.  — Jacob

TP-Link Kasa Smart WiFi Plugs

I have a couple Alexa devices already so I figured it’s time to take the next steps toward automating my house. I also have track lighting so I can’t simply add smart bulbs. The whole idea with smart plugs is to monitor the power usage of whatever is running through it but it’s mostly to connect to a smart home device so I can turn things on or off without touching anything. — Amos, Director of Photography

Anova Culinary Sous Vide

I like cooking meat. I like experimenting in the kitchen and I think this will be a cool kitchen asset, something I can make use of. I also like cooking for other people so it’ll be nice to keep my stove top and oven open to make side dishes. — Amos
