As many pet owners discover, "accidents" will happen. While litter boxes, newspapers, housebreaking, and the great outdoors do improve the situation significantly, there are times when pets urinate in all the wrong places. Discovering and removing these deposits can be a challenge, unless you happen to own a pet urine detector. A pet urine detector is essentially a flashlight equipped with an ultraviolet (UV) bulb, and it emits a specific wavelength that causes urine to glow in the dark. Pet owners darken the room, activate the pet urine detector, and scan for any signs of a urinary accident. Some models may only illuminate any source of moisture, but the better ones can discriminate between urine and other substances. A pet urine detector is also very useful for inspecting living spaces for any signs of contamination.
