Joyce Chen is known for her "Eastern Cookware for the Western Kitchen," and this lid is just that. High-quality, versatile with an Asian flair, but can be used in a western kitchen.

Pros

Nonstick steel wok lid is a handy kitchen addition. Fits 14-inch woks. Will also fit many skillets and also functions as a simple and easy cover for serving dishes. Nonstick interior and exterior and birch wood knob. One unexpected benefit of the sizing is that you can flip the lid upside down and place it inside the wok, making storage a bit easier. It is also great to keep things warm or to prevent spatter all over your cooktop.

Cons

The screw may rust after several uses and does not match well with the wok.

Bottom Line

Cover is well-made, looks shiny, and provides plenty of clearance for steaming dishes. Like a wok cover your grandmother had in the 70s.

Pros

Stainless steel construction, Black plastic handle top. Nice mirror finish exterior. Dishwasher safe. Has a convenient hook on one side for hanging the lid. Appears well-made and should last for several years if properly cared for. The lid is designed in a way that it does not have to fit tightly to prevent steam from escaping. Works beautifully on cast iron woks used on camp stoves.

Cons

Somewhat thin. Steam seems to lift it at times; could have added steam holes for better use. The screws for the handle are super soft metal – so soft that using a screwdriver without that much force may completely shred the head.

Bottom Line

An aluminum lid that covers every type of wok that measures 2 to 3-1/2 inches in depth. Flat top dome shape with easy grip natural blond, wooden handle.

Pros

Lid comes with the handle attached. Made from a heavy aluminum, Fits other woks well like a 13-inch. The lid lip sets down into the wok about 1/16-inches. Nice wok cover that fits 18-inch woks, too. Also works on larger pans. Good buy. Great for cast-iron skillets when cooking fried chicken.

Cons

May need to thoroughly wash it because it may have graphite stains on the inner side from the machining process. Hand soap and Dawn will remove it. Does the job but handle may need replacing due to unsecured screw. Original allows the handle to spin no matter how tight.

The cover is sturdy and fits many woks perfectly. Uses Green Tek nonstick technology to completely eliminate the use of the harmful chemicals.

Pros

Nice high dome shape sends moisture back into the pan and prevents splatters. Large knob is easily grasped with a pot holder. High polished finish stands up to dishwasher-cleaning, but is best kept out of the oven. Is a perfect fit for the Scanpan Wok. It is very attractive and can be used on the table . This 11-inch cover fits other pans just right. Dome shape works well for steaming dishes. Can also be used over stock pots.

Cons

Shiny surface may dull over time or hold water spots from hand-washing or dishwasher use. Could also show fingerprints. Size may be too small for some very large woks.

Bottom Line

This USA-made aluminum lid covers every type of wok.

Pros

Heavy 18-gauge aluminum construction. Flat top dome shape with wooden handle. Sturdy and large enough to cover the food and melt the cheese on sandwiches. Keeps food warm for a reasonable amount of time.

Cons

The handle needs to be assembled. Holes in the handle and lid don't line up correctly. The wooden handle may burn after a short time and be unusable.

Woks are a useful kitchen tool that make cooking certain dishes easy, quick, and enjoyable. For instance, if you’re looking to cook up a delicious and flavorful stir fry, a wok is just the tool for the job. To make cooking these dishes easier, woks should be accompanied by a domed lid. These help to lock flavor in and to keep the scents of your dish more contained. In finding a wok lid that suits your needs, consider first the size lid you require to ensure that it fits well with the base of your wok. Then choose the material that you would like your lid to be constructed out of. Once you’ve decided on a lid, cooking with your wok will be even easier.
