The appropriately-named BBQ claw is a comb-like tool with a handle that pulls meat apart. This produces shredded meat that’s great in sandwiches. BBQ claws are better than 2 forks as they’re faster and require less energy. They’re also useful for lifting large cuts of meat off the grill and onto a platter. Some BBQ claws have long handles while others look like a hair clip comb with a short handle that has slits to put your hands through. These require that the slits fit your fingers. Also watch for hollow undersides in short claws as these can trap food that’s difficult to clean out. A stainless steel BBQ claw is better for durability and safety as plastic ones can deteriorate and contaminate your food.
