A guide to making your space as comfortable as a spa

Last Updated October 2018

When work and life are taxing, one of the best ways to relax is at home in your own spa-like atmosphere.

If you don’t have a dedicated area or room in your house, that’s OK. There are a few quick ways to transform a bathroom, or even bedroom into a quiet place you can rest.

Yes, besides adding soft music, and drawing a warm bath, a day-spa experience is closer than you think.

We suggest starting off by dropping your work clothes and stepping into something more comfortable, like Acorn’s spa thong slippers. Your feet will thank you almost immediately as they settle in on these pillow-like wonders.

Next, bundle yourself in Alexander Del Rossa’s microfiber fleece robe and start to unwind. Soft, comfortable and perfect for kicking back after a long day of errands, chores and work.

We like the Relax-A-Lounger by Andre Convertible as the ideal chaise longue.

Let your hair reap the rewards too by saturating your strands with Macadamia’s Deep Repair Masque. It will do wonders for any damages your hair has endured from over-styling, swimming and more.

Give yourself a spa-like facial by starting out with a good old-fashioned steam from the Panasonic’s Spa-Quality Facial Steamer. It cleans deep, removing makeup and other pore-cloggers, and it’s portable for when you want to keep it stored until you need it.

After the steam, slather on a facial mask and read a magazine while your face gets nourished with Peter Thomas Roth’s laser-free retexturized exfoliating facial scrub. It’s great for bringing back a warm glow if your skin has been looking tired as of late.

Don’t forget to give your hands some attention since they take a beating from everything from typing on the computer to washing clothes. We suggest L’Occitane’s lavender hand cream. Terrific for hydrating skin without leaving it greasy.

Give your tootsies a treat after wearing high heels all day and soak them in the Brookstone heated aqua-jet foot spa, your feet will feel like they’ve been massaged for hours. Enjoy the warm water and powerful jets as they work hard to help relieve sore feet.

Voilà. Your day at the spa hopefully put you at ease and you didn’t even have to go far to enjoy it!
